Clinch
One of the most important fight techniques of Muay Thai, is the clinch. The clinch is a very distinctive art in traditional muay thai. It is often assumed that the clinch in this combat sport is similar to the clinch in western boxing, where the clinch is used simply to tie up your opponent to stop the other fighter or boxer from hitting you and therefore being able to get a short break after possibly receiving a powerful punch or hit. In muay thai the clinch may serve a similar purpose because you may be able to catch a short breather, in comparison to other combat sports however, the muay thai clinch can be a place where if sufficiently skilled a fighter can end the fight with a great clinch throwdown, takedown or a vicious clinch elbow or knee . As the clinch is all about distance and control, it can be offensive or defensive in its set up. Many muay thai fights have ended because of a great clinch technique. Clinching is definitely a tough art to learn and these instructional videos should help you become more efficient during the clinch
